Jesus nuestro Antorcha was the theme for this year’s winter extreme camp. 10 campers participated from all over Argentina and Brazil. As the camp leader I had to juggle a small budget with pricey activities, lodging and food, but God was faithful. We stayed in a refuge in the mountains, ate wonderfully, and had a great time horseback riding, hiking, and rapelling, It was really rewarding to see how everyone that came to the camp left with their batteries recharged for the everyday battle. A girl from my neighborhood, Chiqui, that became a Christian three months ago was able to come on a partial scholarship. Chiqui had never gone to the mountains of Mendoza before! She was impacted by all the activities and in one night during a girls small group, the girls opened up, many to confess sin and ask for help. Chiqui was amazed to hear other girls that have similar problems to hers at home. In her mind all Christians were perfect and had perfect families. Lifelong friendships were made through the times we shared during the camp, especially the worship and bonfires. Praise the Lord!
